Hello and welcome to our class page!

My name is Miss Kennedy, and I am delighted to be teaching 1/2P this year. I am very lucky to be joined by our wonderful teaching assistant, Mrs Plumpton, who helps to make our classroom a supportive, caring and exciting place to learn.

We have an exciting year ahead of us, packed full of opportunities to learn, grow and discover new things. Our curriculum is brought to life through our inspirational characters: Mae Jemison, Samuel Pepys, the Wright Brothers and Sir Robert Peel. Through learning about their lives and achievements, we are encouraged to be curious, resilient, creative and ambitious in our own learning.

In 1/2P, we love exploring the world around us, asking questions and developing our understanding across the curriculum. We are working hard to strengthen our phonics knowledge, helping us to become confident readers and writers, whilst also developing our mathematical skills and understanding of numbers to 100 and beyond.

As well as achieving our best academically, we place great importance on building confidence, independence and positive relationships. Every day, we encourage children to challenge themselves, persevere when learning becomes tricky and celebrate their successes along the way.

We are looking forward to a fantastic year filled with memorable experiences, exciting discoveries and lots of fun.
